See your parent’s myUCLAhealth account

Hospitals call this proxy access, or family access. You sign in with your own login and switch to your parent’s account, so you never need their password. At UCLA: the patient sends an invitation or completes a consent form.

  1. 1Invite route: your parent goes to Your Menu, Sharing, then Share My Record, enters your details and sends the invite.
  2. 2For the invite route, you both need active accounts. You confirm your parent's date of birth before access starts.
  3. 3Form route: your parent's doctor's office provides a consent form and explains the steps.
  4. 4If your parent has diminished capacity, a specific consent form is needed and their clinician must verify the capacity. The doctor's office guides this.
