See your parent’s MyOchsner account
Hospitals call this proxy access, or family access. You sign in with your own login and switch to your parent’s account, so you never need their password. At Ochsner: you request family access from your own account.
- 1You need your own MyOchsner account. Each adult has their own, and spouses cannot share one.
- 2Log in, open the menu, search for proxy or family access, and under Sharing select Request family access.
- 3Your parent can also give you proxy access from their own MyOchsner account.
- 4For help, call MyOchsner support at 1-877-339-2637 or email MyOchsner@ochsner.org.

Your parent’s rights
- Your parent has a legal right to copies of their own records.
- When your parent asks, the hospital must answer within 30 days. It can take 30 more days once, if it explains why in writing.
- It can charge only a reasonable fee, based on what the copy costs to make.
- These rules also cover an electronic copy your parent asks, in writing, to have sent to you.
