See your parent’s MyUofMHealth account

Hospitals call this proxy access, or family access. You sign in with your own login and switch to your parent’s account, so you never need their password. At Michigan Medicine: the patient invites you or fills in the adult proxy form.

  1. 1If your parent has a portal, they log in and select Sharing Hub from Your Menu.
  2. 2They go to the friends and family access section, select Invite friends or family and enter your name and email.
  3. 3You get an email and confirm you know your parent.
  4. 4If your parent has no portal, they use the online adult proxy form, which has Full or Limited Access choices. You then have 10 days to accept.
  5. 5You do not need to be a Michigan Medicine patient, but you use your own MyUofMHealth account.
