- Your parent has a legal right to copies of their own records.
- When your parent asks, the hospital must answer within 30 days. It can take 30 more days once, if it explains why in writing.
- It can charge only a reasonable fee, based on what the copy costs to make.

Vita Health Coach is an iPhone app that keeps each family member's results in their own file and explains each new result in plain words. Once you have access, add your parent, tap Connect a hospital and search for Mercy. Paper copies work too: take a photo of each page.
