See your parent’s Patient Gateway account
Hospitals call this proxy access, or family access. You sign in with your own login and switch to your parent’s account, so you never need their password. At Mass General: the patient sends the invitation from their own account, or you both give consent at an appointment or by phone.
- 1Your parent logs in to Patient Gateway, clicks Your Menu, types Sharing in the search box and clicks Sharing Hub.
- 2Your parent clicks A family member, close friend, or caretaker, then Give ongoing access, then Invite someone. Your parent fills in your details and clicks Send invite.
- 3If your parent has no Patient Gateway account, the proxy account can be opened in person at an appointment or by calling the Patient Gateway Help Desk at 1-800-745-9683. You and your parent both need to be there, in person or on the phone, to give verbal consent.
- 4You must be at least 18. You see the same information in Patient Gateway as your parent and can message their care team.
- 5A Patient Gateway proxy is not the same thing as a health care proxy document.
